“The first fruit I purchased back in 2019, was from this site. A cuvée which has been ongoing every year since. Alcohol is often low, and the harvest date late. Gentle and slow in the cellar. Gravity rather than pumping. One years ageing in neutral 600 and 400 litre barrels. And bottling without filtration.”

“From Bully, southern Beaujolais. Organically certified, selection massale, old vine gamay. The vines sit directly on the rock, producing a wine with depth and minerality.”

“2022. A warm and dry vintage with optimum maturity. An earlier pick than usual, due to the advanced season. But the altitude, along with the fresher nights helped to retain acidity. Balancing out the warmer, darker fruited vintage.”

“A tough vintage when combatting the heat and dryness, rewarded with the low disease pressure. Maturities were pushed forwards, and the wine is plush and balanced. 100% whole bunch and low extraction was the protocol.”

“Aligoté is rare around here. The vineyard sits within the boundaries for appellation Coteaux du Lyonnais, where the cépage accounts for a tiny percentage of the production. Although produced as a Vin de France. A balance between the fat and acidity was the objective, and this wine shows potential for some good ageing in the years to come.”

“A vibrant but unusual blend, of Marsanne and Viognier from three sites nearby to Condrieu. The name of the cuvée describes the wine, which is slightly fat and full of love. Tiny volume...”
